Emily “Etay” Tay is the daughter of Burmese immigrants and a Harvard basketball superstar caught between two worlds. She can’t bring herself to come out as a lesbian to her traditional parents, yet as they encourage her to find a husband and she pursues professional basketball in Europe, keeping secrets becomes more difficult. This sweet coming-of-age tale (filled with dazzling displays of basketball) captures a charismatic young woman as she struggles to carve out her own place in the world.
