Special Guests Spotlight: Bela Fleck
October 28, 2014
Music lover? DOC NYC has you covered with our Sonic Cinema section, an exploration of everything from rock n’roll to symphonies to pop classics. Bela Fleck: How to Write A Banjo Concerto is the legendary musician’s autobiographical portrait (co-directed with his brother Sascha Paladino) that traces his creative process from first note to the premiere concert performance one year later.
Since he co-founded Bela Fleck and the Flecktones in 1988, the master banjo player has won a staggering 15 Grammy Awards. Known for his blend of bluegrass and jazz, the Upper West Side native will perform with his wife Abigail Washburn on Wednesday, October 29 at Symphony Space.
