JOCK DOCS: SPORTS FILMS AT DOC NYC

October 27, 2015

jockdocs-speedsisters-1201After its popularity last year, DOC NYC brings back Jock Docs, a section devoted to sports and athletes. Explore race car driving in the Middle East, a trail sled dog race in Alaska and wrestling in Mexico, amongst other disciplines.

Speed Sisters serves up high-octane excitement as it showcases the first all-female race-car team in the Middle East. Demolishing stereotypes, this diverse, engaging group competes in Palestine’s makeshift motor sports circuit across the West Bank, overcoming Israeli checkpoints and restrictive societal expectations to become role models for a new generation of young Arab women in the process.

Speed Sisters makes it US Premiere at DOC NYC and expected to attend are director Amber Fares, producers Jessica Devaney and subject Noor Daoud.
