Taking on fracking, racism, the medical establishment and more, Fight the Power is DOC NYC’s section focused on activism.

In the NYC Premiere BaddDDD Sonia Sanchez, the spoken word poet and a seminal figure in the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s has used her gift for words to fight racism, sexism and war. The film features appearances by Questlove, Talib Kweli, Ruby Dee, Ursula Rucker and more. Directors Sabrina Schmidt Gordon, Barbara Attie, and Janet Goldwater, subjects Sonia Sanchez (11/19), and Byronn Bain (11/19) are all expected to attend
