DOC NYC 2012: Save the date!

We are pleased to announce that DOC NYC’s third edition will take place Nov. 8 – 15, 2012.

Submissions are now open and we are accepting films in three categories:

1) Competition Features (NYC premiere requirement)

• Contemporary documentaries from around the world – 41 minutes in length or longer – that demonstrate a bold commitment to subject matter, excellence in cinematic craft and innovation in storytelling.
• Only feature documentary submissions that are NYC premieres will be considered for inclusion in DOC NYC’s competitive Viewfinders and Metropolis sections, with preference given to World or U.S. premieres

2) Non-Competition Features (no premiere requirement)

• Contemporary documentaries from around the world – 41 minutes in length or longer – that demonstrate a bold commitment to subject matter, excellence in cinematic craft and innovation in storytelling.
• NYC premieres preferred, but not required.

3) Short Film Spectrum

• Contemporary documentaries from around the world – under 41 minutes – that demonstrate a bold commitment to subject matter, excellence in cinematic craft and innovation in storytelling.
• NYC premieres preferred, but not required.
