STORIES FROM THE METROPOLIS… HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR METROPOLIS COMPETITION SECTION!
DOC NYC’S Metropolis Competition section brings you stories from the big city and explore New York’s vibrant diversity. Consider the impact of gentrification with the NYC Premiere of Class Divide, a film observing the growing inequality between two distinct worlds that share the same Chelsea intersection with director Marc Levin in attendance.
A look at NYC’s elite public schools and the students trying to get in, Tested is another highlight of DOC NYC Metropolis section. As we follow a group of students preparing for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test, the question of racial equality arises. Director Curtis Chin is set to attend.
Metropolis films are all up for the Metropolis Competition Grand Jury Prize. The winner will receive a deliverables package provided by Technicolor-Postworks New York a comprehensive post facility offering data and film workflows, multi-format conform, color grading, sound mixing and digital cinema as well as a one-week, theatrical, awards-qualifying run at the IFC Center in NYC.
