Basil Tsiokos promoted to Director of Programming and Deborah Rudolph hired as Director of Development
We’re pleased to share some exciting news with you! Entering our fifth year, we’ve created two new positions at DOC NYC, promoting Basil Tsiokos to Director of Programming from his previous position as senior programmer; and hiring Deborah Rudolph as Director of Development. The job creations were announced by DOC NYC Executive Director Raphaela Neihausen.
“Our team has long admired the talents of Basil and Deborah and their deep commitment to documentary filmmaking,” said Neihausen. “They each bring wonderful assets as DOC NYC continues to grow in its fifth year.”
“The response from the documentary field and New York audiences has been tremendous as we’ve sought to grow DOC NYC at a deliberate pace,” said Artistic Director Thom Powers. “With Basil and Deborah on board, I’ll be devoting more time to the DOC NYC Galas, Short List and new initiatives.”
Tsiokos has worked at DOC NYC for two years as a programmer. He also serves as Documentary Programming Associate for the Sundance Film Festival; and Film Program Director for the Nantucket Film Festival, among other roles. In his new job as Director of Programming, he will oversee the film selection of both features and shorts; as well as the four days of Doc-A-Thon panels, reporting to Powers.
Rudolph spent 12 years as Manager of Corporate Responsibility at HBO. She has also served as a consultant for the Camden International Film Festival and the True/False Film Festival. As DOC NYC’s Director of Development, Rudolph will oversee the sponsorship program and develop new initiatives, reporting to Neihausen. Rudolph will also program Doc-A-Thon in collaboration with Tsiokos.
DOC NYC returns Nov. 13 – 20, 2014.
