modernfam-meltingfamily-1201Each year, DOC NYC introduces different thematic programs. New this year is Modern Family, which explores unconventional families and communities.

Making its World Premiere in this section is The Melting Family,  a candid personal film by Nicole Groton who will attend the festival. Follow her as she shares memories of her complex childhood, while family members deconstruct 20 years of romances, adulteries, births and unexpected deaths and their profound impact on the extended clan. The Melting Family is a product of the today’s Modern Family and challenges conventional views of the “broken family.
