Due to popular demand, a third screening of Miss Sharon Jones! has been added on Thursday, November 12th at 9:50pm at the SVA theatre. Regular $17 tickets are available for this late show. No talent will be present.
Two-time Oscar winner director Barbara Kopple delivers a vibrant portrait of soul singer Sharon Jones also called “the female James Brown”, as she goes through chemotherapy and struggles to mount a comeback show at New York’s Beacon Theater. Kopple captures the highs and lows of Jones’ efforts to battle cancer and keep her band The Dap-Kings together. At the end of her journey, you’ll want to hear more Sharon Jones.
