We at DOC NYC are heartbroken to learn of the destruction caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles. Many members of the documentary community have had their lives upended by this unprecedented disaster. As painful as this moment is, we are inspired by how the community has come together to support the victims of the fire. Please find a list of resources below as well as organizations you can support. - Small Business Administration: Disaster Loans
- Document Replacement: L.A. County residents directly impacted by fires can request property and vital records (e.g., birth, death, marriage certificates) free of charge to help with recovery efforts. Contact the county recorder’s office at 800-201-8999 or email recorder@rrcc.lacounty.gov.
Immediate Financial Help from Variety:
- The Entertainment Community Fund has opened applications for financial relief for all performing arts and entertainment professionals.
- The Inevitable Foundation, a non-profit working to close the disability representation gap in the entertainment industry, has re-opened their Emergency Relief Fund to directly support disabled creatives impacted by the crisis.
Housing:
