Can an affable young trans man live openly with his true love in the Bible Belt? The NYC Premiere of Deep Run (NYC Premiere) explores the intersection of modern identity and faith in the American South. Executive produced by Susan Sarandon who will be in attendance at the screening, the film is playing at the IFC Center at 5:15pm today.

Meanwhile at Bowtie Chelsea Cinemas, a maverick inventor battles against the scientific establishment over a miraculous energy-producing machine in the NYC Premiere of Newman at 5:15PM.

At 7:15PM, DOC NYC world premieres Mariela Castro’s March: Cuba’s LGBT Revolution (pictured) at Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas.
In the film, Cuban Congresswoman Mariela Castro confronts decades of cultural and institutional homophobia to serve as a tireless champion of the rights of Cuba’s LGBT community.

The film will be followed by a keynote conversation with Jon Alpert and Sheila Nevins and a reception co-presented by HBO Documentary Films open to ticket holders.
Danny DeVito will join director Daniel Raim to introduce the North American Premiere of Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story at 9:30PM at the IFC Center. The film is a love story and tribute to the unsung talents behind a staggering number of cinema classics.
