TOP TALENTS BEHIND DOCNYC SHORTS: HOUSE OF CARDS’ BEAU WILLIMON, ARTIST FAITH RINGGOLD

Executive Producer of Brendan Hearne’s Curt (pictured above), Beau Willimon (showrunner/writer of Netflix’s “House of Cards”) will be in-person at the Sunday, November 15th screening of his short, and will participate in a post-screening Q&A.

Noted artist and subject of the short  Bernice, Faith Ringgold will be in-person at the Saturday, November 14th screening along with the title subject Bernice Steinbaum and featured artists: Hung Liu, Troy Abbott, Enrique Gomez de Molina. 

Vladimir de Fontenay‘s What Lies Beneath the Sky features narration by the late, celebrated director Chantal Akerman. It screens as part of the Pushing the Bounds Program on Wednesday, November 18th. 

According to The Independent Magazine’s Kurt Brokaw, Cindy Sherman: “Untitled Film Stills,” Douglas Sloan’s portrait of the photographer’s early work, “merits your closest attention.” Catch it during the Expression Program Saturday, November 14th.

Finally, Stephen Maing‘s The Surrender counts among his producers Academy Award® winner Laura Poitras (Citizenfour) for a tale of getting caught in the crosshairs of national security enforcement. See it in the Points of View Program on Tuesday, November 17th.
